A Special Event Commemorating Nine Years of Imprisonment of the Seven Baha’i Leaders in Iran

On May 11, the Baha’is of the United States will host an evening event in honor of the Yaran, the seven leaders of the Iranian Baha’i community, who will mark the ninth anniversary of their imprisonment.
The evening will begin with a reception at 6:00pm, followed by the program at 7:00pm. The program will feature Kristina Arriaga, Commissioner, U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom; Mitra Aliabouzar, former Iranian Prisoner of Conscience; Nika Khanjani, family member of an imprisoned Baha’i leader; and Arsalan Suleman, former U.S. Representative to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, with performances by Tierney Sutton, eight-time Grammy-nominated jazz singer, and Anis Mojgani, two-time National Poetry Slam Champion. It will be emceed by journalist and author Nazila Fathi.
